Atwater Springs is less than two miles from I-96. Residents can easily commute to Holland (45 mins), Grand Rapids (35 mins), or Muskegon (15 minutes). We are also less than 10 minutes to the Muskegon County Airport and only 45 minutes from the Gerald R Ford Airport.
Shopping
Atwater Springs is a short five minute trip to Meijer, Aldi, and Target, and less than five minutes to The Lakes Mall, Menards, Best Buy, and several other local retail outlets. We are also a quick trip to downtown Muskegon, Spring Lake, and Grand Haven.
Cultural Activities
Atwater Springs is a short 15 minute ride to the Frauenthal Center of Performing Arts, the Muskegon Museum of Art, the Muskegon Museum of Science and History, the Muskegon Heritage Museum, the USS Silversides Submarine Museum, and the LST World War II Museum. Atwater Springs is serviced by the Muskegon District Library, with branches in Norton Sores and several other cities.
The Beaches
Atwater Springs is in the middle of one of the best beach regions in the world. Award winning beaches like the Grand Haven State Park and Muskegon’s Pere Marquette Park are the big attractions, but nearby PJ Hoffmaster State Park and Lake Harbor Park are also amazing. Other local beaches include Pomona Park on Spring Lake and Ross Park on Mona Lake. You’ll certainly need your bathing suit!
Night Life
Muskegon County is known for its year round night life. Atwater Springs is a short trip to the breweries, pubs, and restaurants of downtown Muskegon. Muskegon is a fun evening destination all summer long, but also has several evening events throughout the winter months, including sporting events like the Muskegon Lumberjacks, Muskegon Risers, and West Michigan Ironmen.
Waterfront Dining
Atwater Springs is a short 15 minute trip from several waterfront dining options. If you’re looking to party, visit The Deck at Pere Marquette Park or Dockers on Muskegon Lake. For fine dining, Muskegon’s Lakehouse Grill and Lake Bluff Grill offer the best views of Muskegon Lake paired with amazing food. Nearby Grand Haven and Spring Lake also offer great waterfront dining options.
